International belt wrestling tournament to be held in Turkmenistan
At a government meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Orazdurdyeva reported on the preparations for the national and international belt wrestling tournament "Alysh", which will be held in the Olympic Village in Ashgabat from April 22 to 25 this year.
As noted, a working group of representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the country has been created within the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, which is currently conducting organized work in accordance with the implementation action plan.
It is expected that numerous athletes from abroad will take part in this international competition, which will become an important event in celebrating peace through sports.
In this regard, the vice-premier submitted a proposal for consideration by the head of state.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that effective work is being carried out to develop Turkmen sports at the global level, to raise the international sports prestige of our country to an even higher level, and that international sports competitions are regularly held. The head of state instructed the vice-premier to thoroughly prepare for the international tournament in national wrestling and belt wrestling "Alysh" in the martial arts sports complex of the Olympic village in Ashgabat and to hold it at a high organizational level.
