Turkmen students won 17 medals at the Mathematical Olympiad in Romania
Students from Turkmenistan won 17 medals of various denominations at the 18th International South-Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad «SEEMOUS-2024», held in the Romanian city of Iasi from the 9th to 14th of April.
The brilliant performance of Turkmen talented mathematics experts brought them well-deserved medals - 1 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze.
The gold medal was won by a student at the International University of Humanities and Development, Medine Odayeva.
Students of this university were also awarded two silver medals - Nurmyrat Atayev and Myratgeldi Annamuhammedov and two bronze medals - Azymgeldi Shyhov and Dovletmyrat Esenov.
Students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly have won 5 medals. Balkan Jepbarov, Shabibi Nurjanova, Serdar Orazmyradov and Emir Vellekov received 4 silver medals. 1 bronze for Agabek Matyakubov.
Two medalists are representatives of the Turkmen State Institute of Construction: Muhammetmyrat Gochmyradov (silver) and Nagym Tanrygulyyev (bronze).
The winners of another 5 silver medals were Mergen Gayypov (Turkmen Agricultural Institute), Mahriban Dovranova (Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Nyyazov), Maksat Akmyradov (Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan), Bayram Turayev (State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan) and Dovlet Nurmyradov (Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management).
It should be noted that this is not the first time that Turkmen students have demonstrated excellent skills in solving mathematical problems and excellent results in participating in this Olympiad.
This year, students from about three dozen universities from 9 countries took part in the prestigious mathematical competition. These include Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Macedonia and Romania.
The Olympiad is organized by the Mathematical Society of South-Eastern Europe, the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi and the Romanian Mathematical Society.
The annual SEEMOUS Mathematical Olympiad has been held since 2007 and is an excellent platform for identifying and developing young talents, expanding scientific and educational cooperation, and effective and friendly connections in the global academic space.
