An intellectual competition was held in Turkmenistan in honour of International Women's Day
In honour of the upcoming International Women's Day, the UN Development Program in Turkmenistan organized a brain-ring for students of higher educational institutions of the country Turkmenistan.
The intellectual competition was held on the theme «Women Scientists: Leaders in the Fight against Climate Change».
The Grand Prix of the intellectual battle was awarded to students of the University of Engineering and Technology named after Oguz han of Turkmenistan.
The first place was awarded to the team of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, the second place was awarded to the team of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev.
And the teams of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov took third place.
In addition, the team of the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan was awarded in the «Innovation and Creativity» category.
The teams were awarded certificates and prizes from UNDP in Turkmenistan.
The event was held within the framework of two UNDP projects «Conservation and sustainable management of land resources and ecosystems of high natural value in the Aral Sea basin to achieve multiple benefits» and «Sustainable cities in Turkmenistan:
Integrated development of green cities in Ashgabat and Avaza», which are funded by the Global Environment Facility.
The Brain Ring aims to highlight the leadership role of women and girls in climate change adaptation and mitigation, providing a platform for sharing knowledge and experience, promoting sustainable lifestyles among youth in support of national efforts to combat climate change.
